Wanted PLFI member arrested in Rourkela

Sundergarh: The Rourkela police arrested a member of the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) on Thursday from Bisra area of ??Sundergarh district. The arrested has been identified as Sudama Singh, a resident of Badayatola village in Simdega district of Jharkhand state.
Acting on reliable information of the presence of hardcore cadre with illegal occupation in Bisra, a police team led by Rourkela SP raided the area and apprehended the accused. A pistol and live bullets were seized from him.
Sudama, an active PLFI area commander, was working under the PLFI leader Dinesh Gop of Jharkhand in the Bano area and in the border areas of Hatibari and Bisra in Sundargarh district. He used to raise money from businessmen at gunpoint under the banner of a banned organization.
Sudama was wanted in several Naxallite-related cases including the murder of a Minister in Jharkhand. As many as 15 cases out of which 7 sensational murder cases in Jharkhand (6 in Bano PS area and 1 in Jaldega PS area), 5 cases of Arms Act out of which 4 cases under Bano PS Jharkhand & 1 case in Bisra PS Rourkela, 2 cases of loot at gunpoint in Hatibari PS area of Sundargarh out of which 1 is bank loot from Hatibari Co-Operative bank and 1 case of attempt to murder by firing in 2017 in Mitkundi under Bisra PS in Rourkela are pending against the rebel in different police stations in and out of the state, the police informed.
Earlier, Sudama was arrested on December 26 in 2017 in connection with the murderous attack on one Dinesh Mundari of Jagda. The accused along with his other associates, Bhisma Sahay and Chandrabhanu Singh, had fired two bullets on the chest of the victim to kill him. However, Dinesh survived after prolonged treatment at IGH in Rourkela and then at Kalinga Hospital Bhubaneswar.
