Two forest workers injured in attack in Telangana

Hyderabad: Two forestry officials were injured in another attack on staff at the Telangani Forestry Department on Tuesday, police said.
The incident occurred near Gundalapadu in Bhadradri Kothagudem district when forest officials tried to prevent a group of villagers from illegally cultivating forest land.
Neelamaiah Forest Section Officer and Beat Officer Bhaskar Rao was hit by sticks by people who were handling forest land for tractors.
Forestry officials suffered multiple injuries and were admitted to the Paloncha Hospital. They filed a complaint to the police, who reported the case against unidentified individuals and launched an investigation.
The incident approached a brutal attack on a female forest guard by the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and his followers in Komaram district Bheem Asifabad.
Forest officer Chole Anitha was bleeding when he was attacked with the staffs of Krsna Rao’s brother and his followers in the village of Sarsala in the village of Sarsala.
The incident occurred when a group of farmers tried to prevent forest officials from taking plantations to the forest land.
Rao resigned as Vice President of the Zilla Parishad after the incident, and 16 others were arrested and sent for trial.
In another incident in Kothagudem district, the police reserved a case against MLA V. Venkateswar Rao and his son on Monday for appeals by forest officials for allegedly obstructing their work.
MLA, his son and their supporters have allegedly tried to stop forest officials from building a wall to protect forest land in the Laxmidevipalli Mandala (block).
