Trafficking in children: 11 minors rescued from the train at Rourkela rly station

Rourkela: At least 11 minors, including nine girls, were rescued by the Child Helpline and GRP from the train at the Rourke Railway Station.
According to sources, officials of the State Railway Police and Child for Help rescued minors from Havra-Mumbai Gitanjali Express. Officials also arrested two mediators for allegedly trafficking in underage children.
After the rescue operation, minors were transferred to Short Stay Homes, sources said.
The victims were reportedly trafficked from the Bihar district of Katihar to Mumbai, GRP staff informed. It is suspected that behind the trafficking of children there is a large racket, and investigations are in search of planning, say sources from the police.
