To reach Dharamshala in Kandhamal, a pregnant woman had to be taken on a bed for 4 km.

Kandhamal: A pregnant woman was taken on a cot for four kilometers as the ambulance service failed to reach the village of Juikola in Kandhamal district due to lack of bridge connectivity. According to sources, the woman from Juikola village in Kandhamal district complained of labor pains after which her family members contacted 108 Ambulance Service.
However, the ambulance driver expressed his inability to reach the pick-up point due to lack of bridge connectivity to Juicola village. With no alternative, the family members of the woman made her sit on the cot for about 4 kilometers from where she was taken to the hospital.The woman delivered a healthy baby girl at the hospital and their health condition is stated to be stable, sources said.
