Three Ganja smugglers caught in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Mancheswar police arrested three Ganja smugglers and seized over 21 kg of cannabis on the Puri Bypass Chhak early in the Wednesday.
A police unit reportedly patrolled the area around Mancheswar at night when they discovered three people on a motorcycle with a suspicious sack at around 4:30.
As the police group approached, the bike carriers took a quick step and tried to flee towards Puri bypassing Chhak. However, the cops intercepted them after a short chase.
During the search, the police team found Ganja in the burlap bag and subsequently confiscated her. The three people were arrested under Section 20 (b) (ii) (c) of the NDPS Law and one case (242/19) was registered in this context, the police said.
The arrested were Suraj Kumar, 26, Isak Nayak, 19, and Siyan Nayak, 24, all from Nuasahi, Kandhamal County, under the control of the Balliguda Police. 21 kg and 674 g of Ganja, three mobile phones and a Yamaha FZ-S motorcycle (OD-25D-7235) were confiscated from the possession of the three Ganja smugglers, the police added.
According to preliminary investigations, the contraband consignment was smuggled from Balliguda in Kandhamal district to Cuttack, the police said, adding that further investigations are underway in this case.
