The acute water crisis hits Paradip, water supply is reduced

Paradip: Supplying drinking water in the port city, Paradip, will be reduced as the level of storage of water tanks in the city dropped below the capacity resulting in an acute shortage.
This was notified by the municipal authorities.
Interested authorities announced through speakers around the city to inform locals that water would be delivered once a day. The lack of water in the reservoirs in Paradip forced the authorities to implement measures, the official said.
Every day, the lack of drinking water is more acute in densely populated residential colonies. Sources say that the existing water supply system is not able to meet demand because there has been massive growth in the city and its suburbs.
Many large companies have sunk deep wells and unevenly drain groundwater, which has led to an alarming fall in groundwater levels, say sources.
