Submit Damage Assessment Report, SRC Nine District Collectors

Bhubaneswar: Special Relief Commissioner Bishnupad Sethi has asked collectors of nine districts of Odisha to submit an assessment report of the damage caused by the recent floods and heavy rains.
In a letter issued on Saturday, Sethi asked the collectors of Bolangir, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangur, Raigad and Sambalpur to submit a detailed report by August 17.
In the letter, the SRC sought a report of damage to public assets so that the affected people could be paid assistance as per norms under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF).
“Due to heavy rains during July / first week of August 2019, districts like Bolangir, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Navarangpur, Raigad, Sambalpur have experienced flooding and flooding. The SRC said in the letter, the assessment of damage to public properties and the related repairs would have to take priority.
Sethi also directed the departments of Agriculture, Health, School and Public Education, and Women and Child Development to submit assessment reports about damage to public properties.
