Rajnandgaon: At least seven Naxals have been shot after a meeting of security forces at Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh.
The District Reserve Guard (DRG) team launched a search in the Sitagota jungle, under the borders of Bagnadi Police Station, when the Naxals opened fire. In retaliation, seven Naxals were fired by security personnel.
Both weapons and ammunition were found at the site, officials said, adding that further details were awaited while searches were ongoing in the area.
Earlier on July 29, two Naxals, including a female cadre, were killed in an encounter with security forces in Sukma Chhattisgarh district. The rifle happened at about 7am in the forest near Kanhaiguda village, below the confines of Konta police station, when the District Reserve Guard (DRG) team went out on counter-insurgency action.
