Sai Praneeth’s Japan Open 2019 campaign ends in a straight loss against the top seed

Tokyo: India’s impressive run of shuttle Sai Praneeth at the 2019 Japan Open ended with being surpassed by top-seeded Kento Momoto in the semifinals on Saturday.
Kento Momot’s top seed beat world no. 23 with 8-21, 12-21 in just 45 minutes.
Defending champion Momot started the match well with an 11-6 lead in the first interval of the match, but Sai pulled things off with 5 straight points.
Momota though never let Sai slip as he pressured his Indian opponent with a fine display of defensive skills.
Sai Praneeth led 3-pointer 9-6 in the second game, but Momota took a break for the middle with a two-point lead, even as the mistakes came in the Indian shuttle game. Momota eventually had 8 matches, making it the first in the finals.
The Indian Shuttle defeated players Kente Nishimoto, Kant Tsuneyam and Tommy Sugiart in the Super 750 tournament. However, he was fired against the top seed.
