Riot in the Odisha rally, work stoppage in Congress

Bhubaneswar: The Tuesday’s Odisha rally saw a pandemonium as congressional leaders rioted shortly after the House of Representatives began.
Later, spokesman Surjya Narayan Patro adjourned the house until tomorrow.
After Prime Minister Naveen Patnaik’s speech, BJP party leader Pradipta Naik and high-ranking congressional chairman Narasingha Mishra delivered condolence speeches.
The congress leaders stood up and asked the spokesman why he addressed Pradipta Naik as opposition leader (LoP) without formal notice.
Congressional leaders, including Sura Routray, Tara Prasad Bahinipati, Mohammed Moquim and Ramesh Jena, went to the fountain and held a protest. They said BJD and BJP had a secret understanding between them.
Congress chairperson Narasigha Mishra said that the BJP should have informed the Speaker of the House of Representatives by resolution, then the spokesman would have announced his name for the LoP.
He said the spokesman did not follow the process in this regard. The congress held a strike and the house negotiations continued with their absence.
The leader of the BJP, Pradipta Naik, said the spokesman had been informed of his party’s decision on this matter.
