Rath Yatra: Naveen checks the readiness; No tax at the Pipili tollbooth

Puri: The Odisha government has today decided not to impose a toll on the Pipili tollbooth on the occasion of Gundicha Yatra, Bahuda Yatra and Suna Besha during the annual Rath Yatra, which attracts many fans in the pilgrim town of Puri.
This was announced by Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Chief Administrator Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra, shortly after the meeting of Rath Yatra, which was held at Neeladri Bhakta Niwas today.
The SJTA chief administrator said that no toll will be charged at the Pipili tollbooth on the three major events of the following annual car festival.
Mohapatra also said that five ambulances will be deployed on the National Highway from July 1-15. In addition, the county council will offer a free ambulance service during Rath Yatra from 3 to 15 July.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Chairman of the Special Scrutiny Meeting, called on the public and the Temple Sevayats (servants) to duly cooperate during the big event in order to be successful.
The CM reviewed all the preparations for the annual Rath Yatra and instructed the officials concerned to complete all ongoing FANI restoration work by 30 June.
Ministers, Puri deputies, MLA, Secretary General, DGP, and several other senior officials as well as selected members of the temple servants participated in the meeting.
