Bhubaneswar: The world famous Rath Yatra was celebrated with religious glow and joy on Thursday at the Shrivana Khetra Kaling Institute of Social Sciences (KISS).
More than 50 thousand devotees participated in the retreat of three decorated carts of Lord Jagannatha, Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.
Pahandi and other rituals such as Mangala Arati, Mailah, Tadapalagi, Rosha Homa, Abakasha, Surya Puja, the inauguration of Chariots, and then the procession of deities from the shrine to the chariot began in the morning on the ethics and rituals of the temple Mahaprabhu Shri Jagganath of Puri.
Thousands of devotees gathered to draw three colorful wooden carriages decorated with flowers, applications and wall paintings afternoon after KIIT and the founder of KISS Achyuta Samanta performed the sacred ritual of Chherapahanra, the ceremonial target of the car.
A special feature of the Ghosayatra is that Devadalan, the car of the Goddess of Subhadra, only drags women devotees.
Many temporary stands, food stands and Mina Bazaar were set up on that occasion near the Gundich temple. During this nine-day festival, Bhajan Samara will be organized every evening near the Gundich Temple. The devotees from nearby places come to the temple of Gundich and offer darsan to the three lords.
