President of NCB from Mumbai Sachin Ahir joined Shiv Sena

Mumbai: Mumbai NCB chairman Sachin Ahir joined Shiv Sena on Thursday in the presence of party leader Uddhaw Thackeray in Mumbai. Before joining Shiv Seni, Ahir met Uddhaw Thackeray and his son Adity Thackeray at the Shiv Sena office. Ahiro’s decision was a big blow to the Party of Nationalist Congress because he was the senior party leader. It may be recalled that Ahir was a minister when the NCP government was in power in Maharashtra from 2009 to 2014.
Ahir comes from Worley in Mumbai and is believed to be very close to NCP chief Pawar. Experts say Ahiro’s decision to join Shiv Sena will influence prospects for the NCP and Congress in the upcoming parliamentary elections in Maharashtra.
Sources told Zee Media that another senior NCP leader and former chief of Maharashtra Chhagan Bhujbal also plans to leave the party and join Shiv Seni in the coming days. For his part, Bhujbal rejected this claim, saying that there was no such plan and that he would continue to stay with the party of Sharad Pavar.
It is learned that NCP MLA Vaibhav Pichad also plans to join Shiv Seni. A few days ago, the president of Maharashtra BJP, Chandrakant Patil, said some senior leaders of the Congress and NCP would join the BJP and Shiv Seny.
In June it was announced that NCP supreme Pawar was considering merging his party with the Congress. Pawar, however, strongly rejected those reports and claimed that his party had its identity and that it would retain it. He claimed that reports of merging with the Congress rumors spread by some journalists who wanted the NCP not to stay with our allies. The speculation of the congressional merger began after Congress President Rahul Gandhi met Pawar in New Delhi after the big victory of the BJP in Lok Sabhi in 2019.
