Pregnant woman stretched for 3 km

Nuapada: A pregnant woman was transported on a three-kilometer stretcher after an ambulance failed to reach the village due to a lack of road connection.
The incident happened in the Chitaram Sinarami block in Nuapada district.
According to sources, the woman complained of childbirth pain after which members of her family contacted 108 emergency services.
Although an ambulance arrived, she could not move further as there was no road connection to the village.
With no other options, the woman was carried on a stretcher by family members who had to cross the Udanati River to reach the ambulance. From where the woman was transferred to the hospital.
