Police Odyssey implements a multifaceted strategy to combat cybercrime

Bhubaneswar: Odisha police are pursuing a multi-faceted strategy to deal with the growing trend of cyber crime, officials said Friday.
The top police officials spoke in the second phase of a training program on cyber crime police in Odishi, which began today in Bhawan police here in Bhubaneswar.
The program aims to create a database of trained cyber professionals who can deal with any kind of cybercrime cases. A total of 200 police officers and men from all over the country will have extensive training of experts outside the country.
This three-phase program is organized by the Odyssey Police in cooperation with UNICEF.
The main focus of the training program is cybercrime against children, especially girls. The first phase of this training program was conducted in Bhubaneswar in June this year.
“We have already established four territorial cyber PSs in the state of Cuttack, Sambalpur, Rourkela and Berhampur together with a single cyber cell in each district of the district. Similarly, a proposal was made to set up three more cyber PSs in Corapu, Balasore and Bhubaneswar, “officials said.
“At the same time, we have an action plan to create a database of cyber investigators based on the level of district and local PSs. We identified 200 officers in the ranks of SI / inspectors who, with appropriate training, can deal with cases of cybercrime at the local level, “they added.
“We have designed a three-phase training program in cooperation with UNICEF in order to provide the necessary professional skills in order to be able to deal with these cases at their level,” they added.
