Police ASI caught in Angul on bribery

Angul: Alert officers caught an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) on Friday when they took bribes worth 5,000 rupees from one person.
The accused ASI was identified as Gajendra Behera, currently stationed in the Tabadol outpost under the Thakuragada police force in the Angul district.
A vigilance team led by Pradeep Pradhan, Deputy Superintendent of the Police (DSP), reportedly set a trap and caught Behera in the act when he received Rs. 5000 from the victim.
The ASI had demanded the satisfaction of Jagannath Behera to settle a case (56/19) registered against his son in the outpost of Tabadol. Jagannath reported the matter of vigilance, and the trap was set.
The anti-corruption wing staff caught ASI Gajendra Behera at 9:45 am when the complainant awarded him a bribe of 5,000 rupees.
