PoK activists demand independence from Pakistan

New Delhi: Pakistani-occupied Kashmir (PoK) activists call for independence from Pakistan as Azad Kashmir has no freedom.
The activists expressed concern about the Pakistani government’s persecution of the locals and called on the United Nations and human rights organizations to stop the victimization of the local population by Pakistani troops.
A PoK activist, Shabbir Choudhary, said the region was called Azad Kashmir, that there is no Azadi. He said that the situation was getting worse and worse.
Choudhary said, “They create huge problems for the locals and people may be forced to migrate in the near future.”
Kashmiri political activists from all over Europe who gathered in Birmingham, UK, to attend the international peace conference in Kashmir have condemned Pakistan for violating freedom of expression and speech, freedom of association and freedom of peaceful assembly.
