PNB fraud: Antigua is to revoke Mehul Choksi’s passport

New Delhi: Antiguan Prime Minister Gaston Browne has stated that his country is ready to revoke Mehul Choksi’s passport once he has exhausted all his legal resources.
The passport and citizenship of the refugee will be revoked and he will be returned to India.
It may be noted that he can then be shipped to India. Choksi and Nirav Modi are accused of fraud by the Punjab National Bank (PNB). Both fled India last year.
Choksi, however, was granted the citizenship of Antigua and Barbuda on January 15, 2018.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had even offered to provide an ambulance and a team of medical experts last week to bring Choksi back from Antigua and treat him in India.
The affidavit of the ED states: “He (Mehul Choksi) has never cooperated in the investigation. An arrest warrant was issued against him. A red letter was issued by the Interpol. He has refused to return, so he is a fugitive and an absconder. “
