PM Modi will visit Bhutan in August

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Himalayan nation in August in Bhutan. According to him, he will engage in a two-day official visit.
The visit will reflect the importance New Delhi attaches to its connections with the Himalayan nation. This would reiterate the Indian government’s emphasis on its “First Neighborhood” policy. Official sources say the two countries share a unique and time-tested bilateral relationship that characterizes trust, good will and mutual understanding.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Jaishankar made a two-day official visit to Bhutan on his first trip abroad after assuming responsibility for his ministry.
He met with Prime Minister Butan Lotay Tshering and discussed bilateral relations between the two nations.
