Pickup van carrying tied cattle in Sundergarh

Sundergarh: Bajrang Dal activists and locals today busted an alleged animal trafficking racket and set fire to two pickup vans at Rangadip Chak under Town Police limits in Sundergarh district.
Locals rescued cows and bulls, which were being illegally transported to other states.
According to sources, Bajrang Dal activists stopped vehicles carrying cattle from Sundargarh. The activists rescued the cattle from the van. While the drivers of the vehicles managed to escape from the spot, the locals, along with Bajrang Dal activists, set fire to two pickup vans.
On being informed, fire officials reached the spot and extinguished the fire. However, both vehicles were burnt to ashes in the fire.
Sources said that the police have registered a case in this regard, but a mainhunt is on to nab the accused persons involved in illegal trade.
