OMC alert the public to false online offers, false messages

Mumbai: Oil Marketing Companies (OMC) have warned people of online fraudulent offers and fake e-mails asking for money to choose LPG and retailers.
“We have noticed that OMCs – Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. – that some unknown persons / bogus agencies have created more bogus websites falsely to LPG distributors and / or retail outlets and require money in the process, the statement said.

These false websites target innocent people and send false e-mails allegedly from oil marketing companies – viz. Indian Oil Corporation Ltd./ Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. / Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (using OMC logos at its distributor / retail store header) and collect huge amounts of money on behalf of the OMC.
The public is therefore advised to visit OMC official website only at (for LPG distributors) and (for retail sales centers) for authentic and official information and prevent them from unscrupulous elements cheat. .
In the event that any communication is received regarding the LPG distributor’s offer and / or retailer, it is advised to contact the nearest bonafide to the nearest oil company office immediately before taking any action – i.e. Share personal information and / or return any money. In addition, the public can lodge a complaint with the cyber crime police, if any such case occurs.
