Odisha renews invitation for 20 mines

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday issued a new notification inviting tender for electronic auction of 20 mines, the lease period will end on March 31, 2020.
The government recently canceled the tender process for these blocks due to technical flaws. It had called tenders in October this year.
The Steel and Mines Department has issued a new notification incorporating the new terms in the tender document.
According to the notification, the government has invited tenders for 12 mineral blocks of iron ore, two manganese blocks and six iron ore and manganese blocks.
The notification stated that the last date for purchasing the tender documents is 30 December and the last date for submission of bids is 3 January 2020.

Recently, the state government canceled the bid notification after the meetings of the technical evaluation committee and high-level committee held on 30 November.
The government had found that both subsidiaries and holding companies applied for similar resources in widespread violation of the Mining Tender Act.
Now, a bidder will submit only one bid for a particular mineral block.
