Odisha Lokayukta issued notice to former Sundargarh collector

Sundargarh: The Lokayukta detachments on Saturday sent a report to former Sundargarh collector and district judge, Rashmita Pandu, for alleged misuse of office and embezzlement of a public fund.
The Lokayukta office has ordered former Sundargarh collector Rashmit Pandu to submit his reply on May 21st.
The move comes after Rashmi Ranjan Padhee of Rourkela Chhend Colony filed a complaint against Rashmit, who is currently the Chief Employment Officer, Chief Executive Officer of Odishe Skills Development Department at Lokayukt.
In his petition, Rashmi appealed to Lokayukta to investigate the corruption issue and take stringent action against a 2010 U.S. Administrative Service (IAS) official who was also the then Rourkela Municipal Corporation Commissioner and CEO (CEO) of the Rourkela Smart City Authority.
The complainant alleged that her office premises had been renovated, spending 68.57 rune. She was also accused of intentionally circumventing the tender process.
According to information on expenditure details provided by RTI activists, it is said that 4.04 lakh was estimated for fixing mosquito nets and work on imaging with plastic emulsion was estimated at 4.45 lakh, external and internal electrification of districts was estimated at close 10 garments per hour, and drainage and porch fabrication was estimated at 4.44 garments per month.
In addition, the construction of the safety room, the height of the boundary wall, the construction of an additional dining room and the installation of aluminum sliding windows were estimated at 4 lh.
Interestingly, the Government of the Odyssey was moved earlier this month, shortly after the media highlighted alleged corruption and abuse of office.
