Odisha govt wants to promote table tennis in the country: Naveen

Cuttack: Odisha government will provide tables and table tennis equipment at 200 locations in the country, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced on Monday.
Attending the closing day of the 21st Table Tennis Championships in Cuttack today, Patnaik said that Odysha wants to promote table tennis in the country among other sports.
“For starters, we will provide tables and table tennis equipment at 200 locations. Regular coaching programs with accredited ping trainers will be launched at important district level centers to take advantage of the potential of young players in table tennis, “he said.
He said that the ancient town of Cuttack was known for its rich cultural heritage, Barabati Stadium and cricket. With the host of this event, the city added another beautiful feather to its drop.
“I am extremely appreciative of the spirit of the people from Cuttack who have quickly restored the city for this beautiful event after a very heavy cyclonic storm Fani,” CM said.
CM further said: “Odisha appears quickly as the center of international sports events in India. After successfully holding several international events, including this one, we are ready to host some other sporting events in the coming days. “
He appreciated the spirit of young men and women from different countries who came to this event. “Your performances are really world class and I appreciate each of the participating countries,” he added.
