Odisha govt approved 24 new projects worth 250 kn

Bhubaneswar: In an effort to strengthen agricultural infrastructure and increase farmers’ income, the Odysha government approved on Thursday 24 new projects worth 250 kronor for Rashtriya Krishi Vikasa Yojana (RKVY).
The chairman of the meeting of the state-level sanctioning committee (SLSC) RKVY, General Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi, has sent the departments and project implementation agencies to complete the projects within the stipulated time frame and ensure proper provision of services to farmers.
Agriculture Secretary Sourav Garg said that 24 projects were approved for the development of agriculture, fish farming and livestock breeding, intensification of the green revolution in state administration and pest management. Projects worth 123 crowns were sanctioned for districts affected by Cyclone Fani, he said.
These projects will be funded by central and state governments on a 60:40 basis. RKVY has been implemented in the country since 2007-08, and 749 projects have been implemented so far, out of which 496 have been completed, and the remaining 253 projects are in progress. The government sanctioned 343.67 kronor according to plan during the last financial year.
