Odisha Bhaktarama Desti wins gold in the Commonwealth Championship

Australia: Odisha Bhaktaram Desti won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Championship on the island of Samoa in the South Pacific.
Twenty-year-old won a yellow metal in the category of 49 kg with lifting a total of 185 kg in the competition.
Desti, originating from the poor agricultural family of the RSC-4 village in the Chitrakonda area of ??Malkangiri, was selected at the Berhampur Sport Hostel in 2014.
After his outstanding performance at the national weightlifting championship in 2016, he was elected to the national team to take part in the 62nd national school in Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, the same year.
Later, he won gold at the 1st Khelo India School Games in 2018 and gold at the National Youth Championships, setting a new national record the same year.
