Non-availability of rabies vaccine increases stress in Balasore DHH

Balasore: Tension increased after a dog was beaten at the Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for allegedly missing the anti-rabies vaccine after being bitten by a dog this morning.
According to sources, the man arrived at DHH for treatment in the morning after a dog bite. But the pharmacist on duty at the time refused treatment at the hospital because of the unavailability of the dog bite vaccine.
Infuriated over the delay in vaccination of the patient, the patient and his relatives first indulged in a verbal duel with medical staff and later thrashed a doctor namely Manoj Patnaik after the argument turned ugly. On being informed, local police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
