NHRC relocated raping a 17-month-old girl in Mayurbhanj

Bhubaneswar: A petition has been submitted to the National Commission for Human Rights (NHRC) for raping a 17-month-old girl in the village of Talakunda in Mayurbhanj district.
Petition was filed by Jayantha Kumar Das rights activist. According to media reports, a minor girl allegedly raped her neighbor on July 4th evening.
This issue came to light after the mother’s mother filed a complaint to the police against an accused identified as Bhadra Singh (28) of the same village.
The Accused took the baby while she was playing in front of the house on the evening of 4 July. Then she took her to an isolated place and raped her. The Accused is on the run after committing the crime.
On the other hand, the girl was subjected to treatment at a hospital in Mayurbhanj district.
The applicant requested the NHRC to order the Secretary General Odish to issue an order to the police to arrest the Accused at the earliest, investigate the matter and file a lawsuit.
In addition, the applicant invited the Commission to order the Secretary-General to pay compensation of 7 licenses to a minor victim.
