Naveen calls MoS Civil Aviation for a direct flight to Dubai from BPIA

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Odise Naveen Patnaik urged MoS Civil Aviation, Hardeep Singh Puri, to take the necessary steps to introduce direct international flights between Bhubaneswar and Dubai.
The Chief Minister wrote to Puri, stating the need to meet the growing demand of people in Odisha for international transport. He also noted that the restriction of the right to discharge deterred international airlines from such operations.
In a letter, Patnaik noted that the absence of direct flights from the country to other international destinations, such as Dubai and the Middle East, caused great difficulties for travelers to go to desired destinations.
Although Air India has international flights from Bhubaneswar to the Middle East through New Delhi, it’s a more expensive and long-lasting option, CM added.
Given the problems, Patnaik has asked the MoS Civil Aviation to impress Air India or any other Airlines to launch a direct international flight between Bhubaneswar and Dubai to meet the growing demand of Odish for international travel.
Here, it can be recalled that the state government urges the Center to allow Fly Dubai from direct flights from Bhubaneshar to Dubai from 2014.
