MCL Plot: Naveen Announces Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia for relatives of deceased

Bhubaneswar: Expressing regret over the deaths of workers due to a raid in Bharatpur Mahanada Coalfields Ltd (MCL), Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today released an ex-gratia of 5 lakhs for each of the deceased relatives.
Allegedly, the bodies of two workers have been found so far while rescue operations to find other workers are still in progress.
It is significant that slipping into Mahanada Coalfields Ltd (MCL) in Bharatpur came late last night. All workers present during the incident were trapped below 1 km of depth.
MCL security personnel, police and fire brigade rushed to the scene and launched a rescue operation.
While ten workers were saved on the first day, three others were afraid of being dead due to rain-borne prey that prevailed in the city.
