Maneka Gandhi question Hyderabad encounter

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party MP and former Union Minister Maneka Gandhi has questioned the encounter by Hyderabad police in which four accused were shot.
Condemning the encounter, Maneka Gandhi said: “Whatever may happen, but what is (whatever is dangerous for the country) you cannot kill people because you want to. You cannot take the law into your own hands, they (the accused) would have been hanged by the court somehow. “
He said: “If justice will be served through a trigger then what is the need of courts and police in this country?”
A week after the brutal gang rape and murder of a young veterinarian in Hyderabad, the police killed all four accused in an alleged ‘encounter’.
