Man Arrested For Impersonating As Khandagiri IIC

Bhubaneswar: Police on Saturday arrested a man for impersonating himself as inspector-in-charge of Khandagiri PS. The accused has been identified as Manoj Mohanty, resident of Badagada Canal road.
According to sources, Manoj, native of Koraput district, was staying at Bhubaneswar from past few years. Identifying himself as inspector-in-charge of Khandagiri PS had called a minor girl of Khandagiri area and invited to a hotel in order to convey an important message.
After repeated phone calls, an FIR was lodged against the accused at Khandagiri police station. After investigating the matter, police today arrested the accused and one of his associate, identified as Rabindra Sahoo of Laxmisagar area.
A case has been registered against the duo under relevant Sections of IPC and forwarded to court.
Reportedly, the accused in an inebriated state had identified himself as a journalist and abused a police in Kalpana area. Later, he was taken into police custody by the Laxmisagar police.
