Looting of over Rs 28 lakh in separate armed-robbery incidents in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: After a short time gap, the miscreants on Thursday looted Rs 28 lakh in separate incidents in Odisha. In Puri, armed miscreants allegedly looted Rs 19.50 lakh from employees of a private bank in Gopalpur under Nimapara block.
According to reports, six bike riding miscreants looted cash from two employees of Bandhan Bank after creating panic at gun point. Bank employees were allegedly going to deposit cash in the bank in a car when the miscreants stopped them and looted the cash.
Meanwhile, the police has taken the driver of the vehicle into custody and further investigations are on in this regard.
In another incident, miscreants looted Rs 9 lakh in cash at gunpoint near Jamalpur on NH-16 in Balasore. The incident occurred when two people were traveling in four-wheelers, stopped by robbers who looted the cash at gunpoint. A live bullet has been recovered from the spot, police said adding that further probe in connection with the matter is underway.
