Kalinganagar Police foils dacoity bid; 4 held, 3 fled

Jajpur: Kalinganagar police have denounced the dacoity offer by arresting four members of the dacoit gang of Nadiabhange near Duburi Medical Chowk in the Jaipur district.
The arrested persons were identified as Siba Prasad Bindhani (39) from Kanjiapala, Sagar Pradhan (24) from Ashokjar, Niranjan Nayak (20) from Ashokjar under the restrictions of Sukinda PS and Arjun Baipai (31) from Natiasahi under Soso PS border in the Keonjahr district.
The pistol, sword, knife, iron rod and two motorbikes produced in the country were seized from their possession, and a case (129/19) was registered under Articles 399/402 IPC and 25 Laws on Weapons, the police said. The police also informed that three other gang members managed to escape and the efforts were on them.
According to reports, the Kalingan Police team conducted a night patrol when ASI Manmohan Rout spotted some people gathered in an abandoned house on July 17th. Based on suspicion, the police raided and arrested four people from the scene while three others managed to escape into darkness. When searching for an abandoned house, the police found a sharp weapon and a pistol from a land owned by the accused Sib.
Later, during the interrogation, the arrested dakoits found that they had gathered in an abandoned house to expose a plan to commit robbery in the Nadiabhang area.
The arrested persons were brought to the court today, who refused the plea and sent them to prison. ASI Madhusmit Mohanty will investigate this case, the police said.
After being asked, Kalinganagar IIC Rajendra Pradhan said: “A preliminary investigation reveals that several criminal cases are still ongoing against the accused Sibu at the Sukinda police station.” , the added.
