Iran fired nine Indian crew retained by MT Riah

New Delhi: Iran freed nine Indian crew members detained by MT Riah. Three members are still in custody, the government announced on Friday.
On board MT Riah, the 12 people that Iran held were 12 crew members.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the ship was being held by the Iranian Coast Guard on July 13 along with 12 Indian crew members. The announcement states that the liberated Indians will soon travel to the country.
The Indian embassy in Tehran has asked the West Asian country to release the remaining Indian crew.
