Include Temple of Konark Sun, Temple of Puri Jagannath in the list of icons, Pradhan Center

Bhubaneswar: Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan asked the Center on Friday to include the Temple of Konark Sun and the Temple of Puri Jagannath on a list of iconic tourist sites.
“Odisha is home to several beautiful cultural and natural sights, including the Temple of the Sun in Konark and the temple of Lord Jagannatha in Puri, the most sacred pilgrimage and attractive tourist destinations because of their religious, cultural and architectural importance,” Pradhan wrote in a letter Tourism. Emphasizing the key historical, cultural and religious significance of the Temple of the Sun and the Temple of Lord Jagannatha for the Odyssey residents, Pradhan sought the personal intervention of the Minister of Tourism to include two monuments in the list of iconic tourist sites.
