Human headless body found on rally tracks in Berhampur

Berhampur: A headless body of a person was found lying on the railway tracks near Golatara railway station in Berhampur in Ganjam district.
While it is suspected that the remains had been lying here since last night, the locals saw the dead body this morning and immediately informed the Railway Police.
GRP jawans rushed to the spot and immediately started the operation to recover the head. It is suspected that the head may have been pulled to a certain distance by stray dogs.
However, the missing body part was not traced even after a nearby perimeter was discovered.
The police eventually sent the headless body for postmortem. Police also seized an ATM card and a railway ticket near the body.
While the identity of the man was unknown, the ATM card was inscribed in the name of Harihar Sahu and the railway ticket was for the journey from Cuttack to Berhampur.
The Prima Facies report also suggested that the person was in his 40s.
Sources said that the reason behind the death and details of the person is unknown, the investigation of the case is going on.
