Gold worth 22 lakhs taken away from travelers at Bhubaneswar Airport

Bhubaneswar: Customs officers seized 612 grams of gold worth 22 lakhs from two passengers at the International Airport, Binyi Patnaik (BPIA), on Thursday.
Acting on an intelligence report, the customs officers intercepted two passengers who arrived at a city airport from the capital of Malaysia Kuala Lumpur. During the search, gold was found hidden in plastic boxes in the form of capsules.
Two passengers came from Chennai to Tamil Nadu. The police have launched an investigation.
Yesterday, customs officers seized gold worth more than 5 lakts from passengers at the airport. A passenger, who came from Uttar Pradesh, landed at a Bangkok airport.
