Get Patel Becomes First British Secretary for Home Affairs in India

London: Priti Patel, who resigned as Britain’s minister for aid in 2017 due to unauthorized meetings with senior Israeli officials, was named Wednesday by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson as the home secretary.
Patel, a fireman Brexiteer, who was one of the loudest critics of Thames May Brexit’s strategy, took over the position of the first British minister of internal affairs in India, in the newly-opened cabinet of Boris Johnson yesterday.
Patel was a prominent member of the “Back Boris” campaign for the leadership of the conservative party and has largely come across the plum position in his front-line team.
Patel, the former secretary of international development, who played a leading role in the campaign of Boris Johnson’s leadership, takes over Said Javid, who has been appointed Chancellor of the new prime minister.
