Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman holds a Pre-Budget Consultation Meeting

New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presided over a pre-budget consultative meeting in New Delhi, attended by state finance ministers.
The Minister of Finance requested the cooperation of all the countries and territories of the Union in order to achieve the aspirations of the people. Sitharaman also ensured full co-operation on his part to achieve the desired goals.
Sitharaman said: “The goals can not be achieved if the state and the Center do not work together in cohesion. The Center has the responsibility to determine the direction of economic growth, while the responsibility of the state is to conduct it on the ground. “In his introductory remarks, the Minister of Finance said that until now there has been an unprecedented transfer of funds from the Center that have recently increased from 8 to 29 thousand to 344 thousand to 12 thousand to 38 thousand to 274 rupees.
She said the state’s share of tax transfers increased from 32 percent in the 13th Financial Commission to 42 percent in the 14th Financial Commission during the first term of the current government.
The minister has already held pre-budget consultations with economists, representatives of infrastructure, agriculture, rural development, social, financial sector and capital markets. The Union budget for the current fiscal situation will be presented at Lok Sabha on the 5th of next month.
