Experts of Wildlife Trust to treat sick jumbo in Keonjhar

Keonjhar: A female elephant, allegedly ill in the Bhuiyan-Junga-Pida forest range, has been undergoing treatment for four days.
While Similipal and an expert team of veterinary officials are monitoring its health status, a team from the Wildlife Trust of India today reached the forest range to assist in the treatment of the female elephant.
On 28 September, some local people entered the forest and killed them when they were lying unconscious. On information, forest department officials reached the spot and took stock of the situation.
The elephant is reportedly being administered with injection and saline as the veterinary doctors are yet to identify the disease.
Earlier, the blood sample of the jumbo was sent to the lab. However, the exact disease of the pachyderm will be identified after the post-mortem report arrives. Reportedly the health condition of the elephant is improving.
