Elections on September to proceed according to plan: Afghan Pres

Kabul: Afghanistan has refused to postpone the presidential election following ongoing peace talks between the US and the Taliban, media reports said.
Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani said that on September 28, voting will proceed according to plan.
In his address to the nation on Sunday, to mark the Islamic festival of Eid al-Azha, Ghani said: “Election is important for making strong and difficult decisions in the peace process. Afghanistan needs to elect a president and form a new government so that it can take powerful and difficult peace decisions with full authority and respect ”.
Ghani will play the horn along with its chief executive officer Abdullah Abdullah and 16 other candidates. The report said that peace talks between the US and the Taliban are in the eighth round.
