ECOR to have 200 MT in the freight of this fiscal

Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway (ECoR) will create a new record by entering 200 million tonnes into freight traffic in the 2019-20 financial year.
It will be the first railway zone that has ever loaded over 200 million tons in any year, Rajesh Agrawal, a board member of the Railways Board, said.
Special announcement was given by Agrawal in the presence of ECoR Director General Vidya Bhushan and Additional Director General Sudhir Kumar at a meeting held today at Sadan Rail.
Agrawal, a member of Rolling Stock, visited ECOR and reviewed various activities. He appreciated ECOR for the fastest possible return of rail services after the Fani cyclone. He praised all members of the railways on the east coast because they were the largest railways across Indian railways.
During the meeting, EKR said that the station building in Puri would soon be ready and ready. “The entire station will be ready to receive all special trains during the Rath Yatra period. Currently, ECOR has 15 rake coaches of Lynch Hoffmann Bush (LHB), the most modern coach. This will go up to 30 and all the more important trains, railway officials said.
Additionally, the ECOR area will have a special type of car for four-wheel drive vehicles and two-wheelers from remote production sites in this area, which immensely benefits local car dealers.
The workshop in Mancheswar will be upgraded and will now have the capacity to maintain the LHB trainer, ECOR officials said.
Phase II of the MEMU at Khurda Road is sanctioned. This will help to convert all passenger trains in this area to the MEMU trainer. In the future, all passenger trains will have MERU’s trainers. This will improve the accuracy of the trains.
Mechanized laundry in Puri and Bhubaneswar will probably work soon in the next three months. Rapid watering facilities for trainers will help improve water supply and water availability in passenger cars.
More railway wagons will be assigned to the East Coast railway line, so that local industries and coal and power producers will benefit.
East Coast Railway has introduced the VENTURI non-alcoholic bio-toilet system.
