Country-level consultation on the role of the media in the humanitarian crisis

Bhubaneswar: A country-level consultation on the role of the media in the humanitarian crisis was organized today by the Inter-Agency Group (IAG), Odisha, in partnership with the Odisha State Emergency Services (OSDMA) at the Sandys Tower Hotel in Bhubaneswar.
The consultation aimed to raise awareness and gather feedback and recommendations in order to improve media coverage, especially in emergencies, and to develop a framework that guides them.
Special Relief Commissioner and OSDMA General Manager Bishnupada Sethi attended the event as a guest of honor, commenting on the crucial role that the media plays during the Cyclone FANI and other catastrophic events.
Aurobindo Behera, former member of the Board of Revenue (IAS); Monica Nielsen, Chief of Field Office of UNICEF, Odisha, participated in the consultation as an excellent guest.
Many senior journalists at national and national level, including Sandeep Sahu, Manoranjan Mishra, Rajaram Satapathy, Sudhir Pattnaik, Jatin Dash, Jajati Karan, Sahil Menghani and Ashok Pradhan shared their views and opinions on the role of the media in the humanitarian crisis and disaster management ,
Representatives from media houses, INGOs, UN bodies and OSDMA officials took part in the consultation. The event brought together various stakeholders from media houses, senior government. Officials, INGOs and UN bodies discuss the role of the media in post-disaster reconstruction.
