Congress ready to save coalition government: DK Shivakumar

Bengaluru: The Congress is ready to resolve the demands of the rebel MLAs to save the coalition government in Karnataka, according to reports.
Congressman DK Shivakumar, however, said that if rebel MLAs vote against the establishment of confidence then they will lose membership.
Shivakumar, on Saturday, exudes the confidence that the rebel MLA will return to the party crowd. “They are elected from the congressional party and have been there for a long time. They fought as tigers in their domain, “he added.
Chief Minister Karnataka HD Kumaraswamy will demand a vote of confidence in the National Assembly tomorrow. This comes after the BJP dared the Chief Minister to file a motion for confidence in the National Assembly to prove that his coalition government enjoys a clear majority.
In the 225-seat Assembly, the total power of the ruling allies is 116 with the support of one BSP lawmaker. The BJP has 107 in the National Assembly.
Shivakumar, who is the Minister of Irrigation in the HD Kumaraswamy Cabinet, also acted as a troubleshooter and went to Mumbai to satisfy dissatisfied MLAs. He was detained by the Mumbai police and deported back to Bengaluru.
