China rejects India’s entry into NSG without a specific plan

Beijing: China rejected India’s entry into the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) on Friday without a specific plan, according to news agencies.
“As far as I know, this plenary session is being held and there will be a debate on the participation of non-NPT parties and political and legal issues in this regard,” said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang, IANS news agency .
“Before the concrete plan is reached, the NSG will not discuss the participation of a particular NPT without a party, so there is no debate on India’s participation,” he said.
It can be noted that China opposed India’s entry into the NSG, stating that India was not a signatory to the NPT.
“I want to say that there are no blockages by certain members because there are procedures in the NSG and members make decisions in accordance with the procedures,” he added.
