Chief Secretary, 5T Secy Visit Standalone COVID Hospitals in 4 Dists

Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary Asit Kumar Tripathy and Secretary to Odisha CM & 5T, VK Pandian today visited the districts of Bolangir, Bargarh, Sonepur and Kandhamal to review the progress of work at the Standalone COVID Hospitals.
The senior bureaucrats visited the standalone COVID hospitals that are being setup by the Odisha Government and reviewed the progress in each place.
The Standalone Odisha COVID Hospital of Odisha Govt at Bolangir has 200 beds with 20 ICUs. It is already operational. It is managed by KIMS, Bhubaneswar with financial support from OMC.
The Standalone Odisha COVID Hospital of Odisha Govt in Kandhamal is already operational. It is a 150 bedded COVID Hospital with 10 ICUs. It is managed by KIMS, Bhubaneswar with financial support from OMC.
The standalone Odisha COVID Hospital of Odisha Govt at Sonepur, has 200 beds. It is already operational. It is managed by Health Dept.
The Standalone Odisha COVID Hospital of Odisha Govt in Bargarh will have 200 beds with 10 ICUs. It will be managed by Vikash Group, Bargarh with financial support from IOCL. It will be made operational soon.
The Chief Secretary and the 5T Secretary checked the manpower tie up, medicines, ICU facility, isolation wards, etc. They expressed satisfaction on the progress of work of the standalone COVID Hospitals.
senior bureaucrats also discussed with the Collectors about issues relating to the lockdown and facilitating the Agricultural and other activities exempted from the lockdown.
The Collectors were told to monitor and facilitate the procurement of Rabi paddy, which will start from May first week, and also facilitating procurement & sale of minor forest produce in Kandhamal. They were also asked to ensure speedy implementation of MGNREGA and food served to the destitute and helpless people in the Gram Panchayats and Urban areas.
The SPs in all the four districts were instructed to ensure that the lockdown is enforced strictly and smooth movement of agriculture produce. Besides, Bargarh SP was asked to maintain strict vigil on the Chhattisgarh border.
