CBI’s additional director, Nageswar Rao, was appointed head of the Home Guard

New Delhi / Bhubaneswar: The government removed CBI M Nageswara Rao’s additional director on Friday and appointed him general director of fire services, civil protection and homeland security.
Rao, a member of the Indian Police Service (IPS) from Odys in 1986, twice served as a temporary chief of the CBI after Alok Verma was removed.
After the mandate of M Nageswar Rao, IPS (0D1986), additional director, CBI by the Appointment Board and the placement of his services in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the competent authority approved his appointment as Director General, Fire Services, Civil Defense and Guard at home, by temporarily moving the post to the level of additional general manager (level-15 Matrix of salary), for a combined mandate until his retirement on 31.07.2020 or until further orders, whatever it was earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs issued.
Rao is from Warangal in Telangana. A postgraduate chemistry at the University of Osmani, he was researching in the IRAI Madras before joining the IPS.
