CAC to choose Team India’s head coach after Independence Day

New Delhi: Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) will select the next head coach of India after Independence Day.
Kapil Dev, Anshuman Gaikwad, and Shantha Rangaswamy, members of the three-member Cricket Advisory Committee that will choose the next coach, will interview the shortlisted candidates next week.
Earlier, it was reported that the interviews would be conducted on 13 and 14 August.
However, sources said that one day would be enough to interview all the candidates, as around six people have been shortlisted. It is strongly believed that bowling coach Bharat Arun will continue in his role, with Vikram Rathore or Praveen Amre coming on as batting coaches as current coach Sanjay Bangar’s position is under suspicion.
Although the CAC is expected to choose the head coach, the support staff will be selected by the selection committee, which includes M.S.K. Prasad, Gagan Khoda, Jatin Paranjpe, Sarandeep Singh and Devang Gandhi.
According to sources, the captain will not be part of the decision making process during the selection of the coach of the women’s team only.
