BJD MLA Rajanikant Singh elected Deputy Chairman of the Odisha Assembly

Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal’s (BJD) MLA Rajanikant Singh was unanimously elected Deputy Speaker of the 16th Odisha Assembly on Thursday.
Prime Minister Naveen Patnaik proposed the name of Angul MLA Rajanikant for the post. The proposal was supported by the Minister of Parliament BK Aarukh.
Since opposition BJP and Congress did not nominate their candidates for deputy spokesman, Rajanikant was undeniably elected.
Rajanikant, son of former MLA Late Adwaita Prasad Singh and resident of Gotamara Village in Angul District, has been a four-time Angolan MLA since 2004.
